- Size H (5.00MM) Crochet Hook
- tapestry needle for weaving in ends
Using H (5.00mm) Hook and “Black Currant” (purple) cotton yarn (gauge 4~ medium worsted weight)
Round 1: starting in 2nd ch from the hook sc 11, DO NOT TURN (begin working on other side of the original ch), sc 11, DO NOT TURN continue working in next st
Row 2: sc 2, hdc 2, dc 3, hdc 2, sc 2, slst to join, ch 1, turn
Row 3: sk 1 st, sc, hdc, sk 1 st, (4 dc all in next st) X3, sk 1 st, hdc, sc, slst, ch 1, turn
Row 4: sk 1st st, sc 15, slst, ch 1, (DO NOT TURN, continue working brim along bottom), (slst, ch 3, 3 tdc all in same st), 3 tc in each of the next 10 sts, (3 tdc, ch 3, slst) all in next st, slst, F/O leaving tail for sewing
With black yarn: ch 15, starting in 2nd ch from hook sc 14, F/O leaving tail for sewing.
Flower (using Hot Green yarn): ch 16, starting in 2nd ch from hook (sc & dc in same st), *(dc & sc in next st), (sc & dc in next st)*, repeat *to* across, F/O leaving a tail for sewing
With White, let’s make the Square: Find FREE Square Pattern HERE
Assembly: Sew purple hat onto square, sewing around top edge and across middle, leaving ruffle unattached. Sew black band across middle, then twist the flower into shape and attach to side. Taking care to only go through the top layer of stitches on all so the stitching doesn’t show on the back of the square. Weave in all ends.
